Round of applause!! Brave man!! I was feeling nervous just watching it, especially when he looked down from time to time! Yikes!!!
Hi Sharon, I think it’s one of, if not the greatest adventure feat of human history. Although Nimsdai Purja who embarked on the quest to summit all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks in seven months has got to be up there as well. Thanks for your comment Sharon.
Thanks Matt, will watch this later!
Matt….I’m scared to go up ladders…heights frighten me to death…I was nervous watching this but I admire him!
I can attest I’m also fearful of heights.
I don’t know why, but I watched a ‘mountain’ of interviews and documentaries on Honnold last night and I found this one the best resumen and I felt obligated to post it.
I had a friend at the Academy who was big into this sport and he had all the gear and would encourage me to join him to climb artificial ascents on the side of a building. You know the ones with the plug-in rocks and he was great at it. I was not so great. Haha
Yea…even in a tall building I get nervous looking out the window….but in an airplane…I’m good once we get up in the air…but I hate the takeoffs and landings.
Well Matt you tried…that is more than I can say for me! I probably should jump out of a plane or something to try to beat it…but I’m ok living in fear!
Yeh, I get nervous in high locations. Planes never phased me anywhere near as much as buses do. They phase me especially here in Colombia. You only have to read the stats.
I point you to one of my favourite final scenes in movies to overcome the fear haha. It has so many cool Dylan and Springsteen references this movie:
I LOVE that movie Matt. My favorite clip of those scenes was Pete Townshend sliding across the stage.
So bus rides are not too safe there?
Are long country bus rides (or trains for that matter) statistically more safer than travelling on plane? I highly doubt it.
Wasn’t it Springsteen sliding across the stage in the movie or I might have my wires crossed.
He might have been but the one I noticed in those clips were Pete and they just finished Won’t Get Fooled Again…it’s in the Kids are Alright documentary. My favorite rock doc.
The only thing I know about Townsend is ‘Let My Love Open the Door’. The Who… I know nearly nothing about, but from what I’ve heard, it’s not really my stuff..A bit like The Stones. Although I’d like to see the doco one day. I might learn something haha.
It is entertaining….it’s what got me into them.
I couldn’t bring myself to watch the climber. It would give me the heebie-jeebies
Yes, even watching it isn’t for the faint hearted.
